SAIA EURAXESS organised the "Webinar: Connecting with Scientific Diasporas in Latin America, North America, and China" on November 7, 2024. Speakers from EURAXESS Worldwide, representing regions such as Latin America, the United States, and China, shared insights into the operations and collaborations of European scientific diaspora networks. Dr. Dmytro Zherlitsyn, as the SciEntBG Hub lead, participated in this webinar as part of the hub's regular events to explore and investigate successful practices for engaging scientific diasporas globally. His involvement focused on understanding regional approaches to fostering international scientific cooperation and integrating researchers into broader networks. This webinar served as a platform for the SciEntBG Hub team to gather practical knowledge and ideas. Those experiences can be adapted to support the SciEntBG Hub's goals of facilitating scientific entrepreneurship, funding tools support and collaboration between academia and industry. The event highlighted diverse strategies, including those in Brazil, where the EURAXESS team has been building a cohesive network for European researchers despite challenges, and in China, where diaspora groups have become essential in connecting researchers with local institutions. The SciEntBG Hub also supports similar innovative methods for strengthening ties with Bulgarian, European and international scientific communities, reinforcing its role in the global research ecosystem.
