- Sofia University has started to accommodate refugees from Ukraine in two of its premises - the Creative House in Kiten and part of the dormitory of the Department of Information and Teacher Training (DIUU) in Sofia. Sofia University works in cooperation with the Patriotic Cultural and Educational Association for Relations with Bessarabian and Taurian Bulgarians. The first refugees from Ukraine are already settling.
- Sofia University announces a donation campaign to raise funds for Ukrainian refugees. Donations are accepted into the bank account of the university as follows:

Lecturers and administrative staff from the University of Ruse “Angel Kanchev” are volunteers for the Bulgarian Red Cross. They are giving day and night shifts at the Checkpoint at Ruse, on the Danube Bridge. There
the voluntaries welcome the refugees and assist them with life supporting provisions (warm drinks, food, blankets, etc.).
- The Academic Council of the Technical University of Sofia adopted a decision which exempts studentsfrom Ukraine from paying rent in the students’ hostels of the university from 1 March 2022 to 30 September 2022. They will also receive a free voucher for lunch and dinner in the canteens of TU - Sofia from 10 March 2022 to 30 September 2022 for the days when the canteens are open.
- Recruitment of scientists from Ukraine: currently, the university observes the general provisions of the Law on Labour Migration and Labour Mobility concerning third-country nationals who have been admitted as researchers and have a contract with a research organization to carry out research as part of a research project.
