The TALENTify project, officially launched on August 1, 2024, focuses on establishing a talent exchange hub in Plovdiv to enhance the mobility, career development, and retention of researchers in the European Research Area (ERA). This initiative aims to attract, retain, and support the relocation of scientific talent while fostering a nurturing environment for research and entrepreneurship.
The hub’s main focus includes:
- Supporting scientific mobility and relocation.
- Attracting and retaining researchers in the ERA.
- Creating opportunities for career development and scientific entrepreneurship.
Key Project Activities:
- Engaging universities, scientific organizations, and businesses through joint events and initiatives to shape Plovdiv's research vision.
- Conducting national and local training events to introduce programs such as:
- REBECCA and Shape the Future of a Researcher Coming to Europe (mentoring programs).
- UniWeliS, for networking and career building.
Expected Outcomes:
- Greater recognition and improved working conditions for researchers.
- Introduction of new career development paths.
- Enhanced participation in research networks.
- Support for women in science and strengthening their role, aligned with Horizon Europe priorities and the European Charter for Researchers.
The project is set to run for 15 months, concluding on September 30, 2025. It represents a major push towards building a thriving research ecosystem in Plovdiv, encouraging scientific innovation and entrepreneurship.
